Don't miss Oscar the Bird King, Vashon's giant wooden troll sculpture by Danish artist Thomas Dambo, tucked into the woods at Point Robinson Park - one of several "Northwest Trolls" scattered around the region. Island Center Forest, near the middle of the island, is a peaceful spot for a forest walk or hike. And the Bluff Trailhead, part of Maury Island Natural Area, leads down to the beach with sweeping Puget Sound views - a favorite for a scenic walk.

Beaches & Parks

KVI Beach, just a mile from the yurt, is one of the island's most-loved walking beaches - great for a low-tide stroll. Point Robinson Park, on the island's east side, has a historic lighthouse, picnic areas, and beach access with views toward Mount Rainier. For something closer to town, Lisabuela Park and Jensen Point Park both offer easy beach access and are popular for kayak or paddleboard launches.

Downtown Vashon

Uptown Vashon (about 1.5 miles from the yurt) has a walkable strip of cafes, restaurants, a grocery store, and local shops - a good spot to grab coffee, browse a bookstore, or pick up supplies.

Farms, Wine & Cider
