Where you’ll be

This is a private, standalone yurt tucked into the woods, just across the shared driveway from an Airstream trailer (also available to rent, but not part of this stay). The lower property nearby is a private residence and is off-limits to guests. Parking is off-property on the public road near the mailboxes - you'll walk in from there, though you're welcome to pull up briefly to unload your things. Everything you need for a cozy stay is inside the yurt itself.

Pets aren't welcome, unfortunately - there's a small dog on the lower property and we want to avoid any mishaps. There's no running water at the yurt, so please don't prepare or clean up food outside (raccoons are persistent!), and open fires aren't permitted on the property due to fire risk. Disposable cutlery is provided if you'd like to bring pre-cooked takeout to enjoy.

Getting around

Vashon Island is only reachable by ferry - there's no bridge access. Washington State Ferries run to Vashon from Fauntleroy (West Seattle), Southworth (Kitsap Peninsula), and Point Defiance (Tacoma). A car is the easiest way to get around once you're on the island, though there's also a local Metro bus route. Remember, parking for the yurt is off-property on the public road near the mailboxes, so you'll walk in the final stretch.

Neighborhood

The yurt sits on a wooded property facing the Puget Sound, with Sea-Tac Airport visible across the water. Uptown Vashon - with shops, restaurants, and a grocery store - is about 1.5 miles away, and KVI Beach, one of the island's best walking beaches, is roughly a mile away.
